“The Future of Knowledge Institutions in the Mediterranean” For centuries, universities have been considered the main societal hub for knowledge and learning. For much of their history, the way knowledge is produced and disseminated has been relatively stable. It is in the recent decades, and especially years as changes occur at an increasing speed, that the current toolsets are being seriously questioned. Today it seems certain that the sector of higher education is poised to undergo a fundamental reform. At the same time, higher education institutions are resisting the reforms in view of an uncertain future.
