About the lecture 17:45 - 18:00 Registration 18:00 - 19:30 Lecture by Prof. Jim Ellert “Lessons from Successful Stock Market Investors” followed by IEDC presentation 19:30 - 20:15 Networking and reception LESSONS FROM SUCCESSFUL STOCK MARKET INVESTORS In 2013, two academics shared the Nobel Prize in Economics for seemingly contradictory viewpoints and empirical evidence on how financial markets price risky financial assets. Professor Jim Ellert will explain briefly the arguments and empirical evidence provided by both Nobel prize winners and clarify that these two viewpoints are actually complimentary rather than contradictory. In the second and lengthier part of the session, Professor Ellert will highlight lessons he has learned from three very successful equity stock market investors (John Maynard Keynes, John Templeton, and Warren Buffet) and discuss their stock market investment strategies in the context of the Nobel prize winner’s frameworks. The presentation will be essentially non-technical (non-mathematical) and is designed to accommodate attendees who have limited or no financial background.
